Singapore-based real estate agency PropertyLimBrothers (PLB) has stated that co-founder Melvin Lim is serving as a “non-salaried director” following a personal scandal that surfaced months ago.

In a report to local news website Stomp on Tuesday, the firm said that while Lim holds the legal responsibilities of a director, his involvement is confined to a necessary “backend capacity.” PLB noted that Lim is "not seeking any public-facing return at this stage" and is primarily focused on his "family and personal recovery." The company’s operations remain under the management of its current leadership team.

According to AsiaOne, the Council for Estate Agencies' website shows Lim is registered with PLB from May 29 to Dec. 31.

Lim resigned as PLB’s CEO in January following an alleged extra-marital affair with then vice-president Grayce Tan. The allegations originated on social media before gaining wider media attention. Tan also resigned from the company at the time.

Co-founded by Lim in 2017, PropertyLimBrothers built its brand on home tour videos and property analysis content, often featuring the co-founder himself. In the months after the controversy, a number of agents reportedly departed PLB for rival firms, with a similar wave of departures seen at KW Singapore, another agency founded by Lim.

In April, PLB conducted layoffs at its media arm during a restructuring “towards a leaner, technology-enabled operating model,” as reported by The Edge Singapore. In May, PLB’s other co-founder, Adrian Lim, led a team of salespeople to join another agency, PropNex Realty, The Straits Times reported.

Tan has reportedly joined a different agency, OrangeTee, and resumed posting real estate content on her social media since June 12. Lim's accounts remain private.
