Novaland Accelerates Aqua City Project, Resumes Home Handovers in Dong Nai

Novaland is accelerating development at its Aqua City township project in Dong Nai province, resuming home handovers to customers after a period of legal and operational challenges. The developer showcased the project's renewed momentum at an event on May 30, where hundreds of existing residents and prospective buyers toured the site and its operational amenities.
The event, titled "A Residential Destination Entering a New Era in Dong Nai City," was designed to update stakeholders on construction progress. Over the past year, following the resolution of legal obstacles, construction has ramped up across the township. A growing number of facilities are now operational as residents take possession of their properties and begin interior fit-outs, marking a new phase for the key urban project.
Attendees were given boat tours along the project's 32 kilometers of waterways while sales consultants provided updates on construction status and legal standing. Pham Van Dong, who purchased a villa in the Sun Harbor 2 subdivision in 2019, noted that the project had faced challenges that slowed its development. However, following his May 30 visit, he expressed renewed confidence, citing active construction, ongoing handovers, and an increasing number of families moving in.
"In the long term, Aqua City remains highly promising as many major infrastructure projects surrounding the development are underway," Dong said.
During the event, Novaland handed over several homes to new residents. The company has set a target to deliver 9,200 properties during the 2026-2027 period. "When families move in, Aqua City will become a vibrant urban community," a company representative stated. The project features over 60 amenities, many of which are complete, including shopping areas, restaurants, parks, and sports facilities like the Citigym Lifestyle Center. Cultural, healthcare, and educational facilities are currently under development and are expected to open soon.
The project's strategic location was recently highlighted when its Aqua Marina Riverside Square hosted the mid-May ceremony announcing Dong Nai's establishment as a centrally-governed city. The Sun Harbor 1 subdivision, considered a premium zone with a riverfront location facing Ho Chi Minh City, has completed its legal procedures and is in the final stages of construction.
The township's long-term value is underpinned by major regional infrastructure projects, including the Long Thanh International Airport, Long Hung Bridge, Nguyen Huu Canh Boulevard (Huong Lo 2), and Ring Road 3 connecting to Ho Chi Minh City. Novaland stated that construction is continuing at an accelerated pace to fulfill its commitments to customers. The developer envisions Aqua City becoming a community for over 60,000 residents and a leading leisure and entertainment hub for the eastern Ho Chi Minh City region.
