Vietnam's SSI, VietinBank, Visa Debut Digital Investment-Payment Card

SSI Securities Corporation (SSI), VietinBank, and global payments firm Visa on June 25 launched the ProfitX co-branded card, a virtual international debit card that integrates investment and spending functions onto a single digital platform.

The launch represents the first time in Vietnam that a securities company and a commercial bank have collaborated to develop an international card combining these dual capabilities. The product is aimed at a growing demographic of digital investors who prefer online financial services, real-time cash flow management, and flexible investment tools.

Issued and operated entirely online without a physical card, ProfitX leverages Visa's tokenisation technology and biometric authentication to secure digital transactions. The card also supports Apple Pay and global contactless payments.

Cardholders receive a blend of benefits from the partners. SSI provides preferential trading fees and margin lending rates, while VietinBank offers fee waivers and cashback on select technology and entertainment spending. Users also gain access to Visa’s extensive promotional offers across shopping, travel, dining, and entertainment.

Speaking at the launch ceremony, SSI CEO Nguyễn Đức Thông stated that ProfitX enhances the company's integrated digital financial ecosystem. He said it brings together investment, payments, and cash flow management on one platform while upholding consistent operational and risk-management standards.

The initiative also signifies the start of a strategic partnership between SSI, VietinBank, and Visa. The institutions plan to collaborate on developing innovative financial solutions for young investors, aiming to build a broader ecosystem of financial services and privileges that align with modern investment trends.
