Vedan Vietnam has been recognized for its long-running community development initiatives, receiving an award in the Social Empowerment category at the Asia Responsible Enterprise Awards (AREA) 2026. The company was honoured for its "Vedan Love & Care – Sustainable Community Development Program" at a ceremony held on June 26 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Founded by Enterprise Asia in 2011, the AREA program is one of the region's leading platforms for recognizing excellence in environmental, social, and governance (ESG) practices. This year's awards, themed "Leveraging Technology for a Regenerative and Inclusive Tomorrow," highlighted businesses that integrate innovation with sustainable development. The Social Empowerment category specifically acknowledges projects that improve the quality of life for vulnerable groups.

According to the event organizers, Vedan Vietnam was recognized for its sustained investment in community development, particularly in education, healthcare, and housing. The company contributed approximately VND17.76 billion (US$680,000) to these programs between 2021 and 2025.

In collaboration with local authorities, the company builds around 15 charity houses each year for disadvantaged families in Dong Nai Province, which borders Ho Chi Minh City. In education, it provides VND150 million annually to the Dong Nai Study Promotion Association to support students with disabilities. The company has also maintained a long-term focus on healthcare, providing free medical check-ups and medicine to more than 16,000 people since 2012, in addition to organizing blood donation drives and providing emergency disaster relief.

Ni Chih-Hao, General Director of Vedan Vietnam, stated that sustainable business growth must be linked with community development. "Over the past 35 years in Vietnam, we have sought to contribute not only through our business activities but also by supporting local communities, protecting the environment, and improving people's quality of life," he said. "Guided by our belief of developing with society and giving back to society, we remain committed to creating long-term value alongside the communities where we operate."
