Vietnam's Ambassador to Turkey, Đặng Thị Thu Hà, has visited the industrial and commercial province of Bursa to strengthen economic cooperation between localities in the two nations, a move that will see a major business delegation travel to Vietnam in August.

During her visit, Ambassador Hà held working sessions with Bursa Governor Erol Ayyildiz, Provincial Administrator Şahin Biba, and Cüneyt Şener, Vice Chairman of the Bursa Chamber of Industry and Commerce, to discuss specific measures for enhancing collaboration between Bursa and Vietnamese localities.

Bursa, located in northwestern Turkey and the first capital of the Ottoman Empire, is one of the country's most developed provinces. It is Turkey's largest automobile manufacturing hub and a traditional center for the textile industry, especially silk production. The province also boasts a strong agricultural sector, benefiting from fertile land and a Mediterranean climate, and is a year-round tourist destination known for its natural hot springs and cultural heritage.

Ambassador Hà noted her impression of Bursa’s dynamic development and reaffirmed the Vietnamese Embassy's commitment to serving as a bridge for partners from both sides. She pledged to support Bursa's authorities and businesses in exploring opportunities within the Vietnamese market and establishing partnerships with Vietnamese enterprises.

In turn, Bursa's leaders welcomed the ambassador and acknowledged the positive progress in Vietnam-Turkey relations. They expressed interest in expanding cooperation with Vietnamese localities and indicated a readiness to sign cooperation agreements with suitable partners. The officials stressed that exchanging delegations and sharing development experience would strengthen mutual understanding and create new opportunities.

A tangible outcome of the discussions is a planned business mission to Vietnam in August, organized by the Bursa Chamber of Industry and Commerce. The delegation is expected to include around 50 companies from sectors such as machinery manufacturing, metal processing, metallurgy, electrical engineering, automation, textiles, and measuring equipment. The firms are scheduled to attend the International Machine Tools Exhibition (CMES) while exploring investment and business prospects in Vietnam.

The visit has laid an important foundation for expanding economic ties at the local level. Relations between Vietnam and Turkey, established in 1978, have developed steadily, and cooperation between localities is viewed as increasingly critical for promoting trade, investment, and cultural exchanges.
